Movie Mondays #8 Niagara (1953)

( I made this on Monday, but for some reason, it's saying Sunday)

Niagara is about Ray Cutler ( Max Showalter) & his wife Polly Cutler ( Jean Peters) who have their delayed honeymoon at Niagara Falls. As soon as they arrive there, they find their cabin that is supposed to be reserved for them end up taken by George Loomis (George Cotton) & his wife Rose Loomis (Marilyn Monroe). Because of the cabin being occupied by another couple, they switch to another cabin. During both the couple's stay there, they introduce each other & meet.

Meanwhile Rose & George Loomis don't have a good relationship & one day Rose is caught kissing somebody else. Rose's plan is to have her husband get killed & have her lover plot the killing on her husband. So far the plot seems simple right? It has a lot of twists & turns throughout the movie as the plot gets unraveled. It was suspenseful in a way but it wasn't the most suspenseful thriller I have ever seen. It had it's fair share of suspense though for a classic 1950's movie. I recommend it if you are into classic thriller movies.

Marilyn Monroe, in one of my favorite roles, which I thought showed she really was a dramatic actress.

Jean Peters, performance was also excellent in this film.

I agree... Marilyn wardrobe was amazing. I would love to have her "hot pink" dress.

This film noir is very enjoyable to watch.
